Honey never spoils
Sealed jars found in Egyptian tombs remain edible after 3,000 years.
Archaeologists excavating tombs in Egypt have found pots of honey thousands of years old, still perfectly preserved and edible. Honey's low moisture, acidic pH, and natural hydrogen peroxide production create an environment where bacteria cannot survive — a natural miracle of preservation refined by bees long before humans understood chemistry.
